Main Objective
Conserving 30% of our ocean and land by 2030, or “30×30 NECA” is a bold but achievable goal that will address grassroot and local community climate and biodiversity crises by fully integrates and respects indigenous rights and indigenous leadership.
GRASSROOTS AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES’ ENGAGEMENT.
30x30 NECA is a new initiative led by a network of African younger generation, promoted, and supported by Global Aid for Africa (GAA). This initiative is designed to amplify the collective impact of youth-led action to protect 30% of our ocean and land by 2030 through education and advocacy campaigns, active engagement in grassroots and local communities that fully respect and integrates indigenous rights and indigenous leadership.
INDIGENOUS RIGHTS AND INDIGENUOS LEADERSHIP.
African concern regarding indigenous rights and indigenous leadership impacts on ocean and land has led to 30X30 NECA urgent calls to meaningfully protect 30% of the ocean and land that fully respect and integrates indigenous leadership and indigenous rights in the next decade to preserve what remains of ocean and land biodiversity abundance. Critical to the success of these efforts are the voices and leadership of young people voices around grassroot and local communities.
GLOBAL AID FOR AFRICA
Global Aid for Africa (GAA), 30X30 Network Campaign for Africa (30x30NECA), aims to drive collective action, mobilizing key stakeholders from grassroot and local communities to drive change while reminding African leaders that the younger generation across Africa are doing their part to accelerate progress on the 30% of Indigenous and local conserved areas by 2030. “The Africa we want”.
