Round table discussion: Enhancing leadership of indigenous youth and youth from local communities on 30×30 action
“Indigenous youth and youth from local communities and grassroot are key to achieve the 2050 vision: Living in harmony with nature. The Kunming-Montreal global biodiversity framework will benefit and recognize their contributions at the local level, and this can only be achieved with youth voices around grassroot and local communities”
Discussion prompts: 1. What practices are indigenous youth, grassroot and local communities’ youth from your region doing to help protect at least 30% of land and ocean by 2030 that fully respect and integrates indigenous rights and indigenous leadership? 2. How can meaningful youth engagement in 30×30 policy development and implementation be enhanced? Are there any existing good practices, in your experience? 3. What practices would enhance the engagement of indigenous youth and youth from local communities in the activities of the 30×30 African Youth Network Campaign Platform or in other areas of work under the 30X30? 4. What recommendations would you provide to the Global Aid for Africa (GAA), to ensure that the 30×30 Youth forum dialogues build on one another during the workplan period, 2023 – 2026?
